Episode 73: Live Reckless & Other Lessons from Walking Around the World with Tom Turcich

Tom Turcich is the 10th person to walk around the world, while his dog, Savannah, is the first pup to accomplish such a feat. Their seven-year, 28,000-mile journey was born from the death of Tom’s close friend, Ann Marie, who died in a jet ski accident at the age of 16.

Seeing how someone “better and kinder than me could be snuffed out suddenly and indifferently”—woke Tom to the reality of his own inevitable death. Tom is also the author of his first book, Savannah’s World of Adventure.

Not only is Tom’s adventure a demonstration of incredible physical endurance, but it’s a lesson in resilience, problem-solving, and the oneness of humanity.

Tom crossed jungles, deserts, and mountains. He’s broken bread with people from all walks of life. And he’s spent more than half his life reflecting on what makes life meaningful and how to achieve one’s dreams.

Today, Tom is a writer, photographer, and renowned speaker. Sharing his incredible story with audiences around the globe, he's been featured on CNN, BBC, and Good Morning America. Tom is a testament to the power of perseverance, determination, and the human spirit.
