Andrew McCarthy is a New York Times best selling author of Brat: An '80s Story, Just Fly Away, and The Longest Way Home. And his new book is, Walking with Sam: A Father, a Son, and Five Hundred Miles Across Spain.
He gained fame as an actor in the 1980’s appearing in such iconic films such as Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo’s Fire, and Less Than Zero, as well as cult favorites Weekend At Bernie’s and Mannequin.
He has found a second career as a director, directing some of today’s most popular television shows, including Orange Is the New Black, The Blacklist, and the second season of Awkwafina is Nora From Queens.
For a dozen years, Andrew served as an editor-at-large with National Geographic Traveler magazine and was named Travel Journalist of the Year by The Society of American Travel Writers.
Andrew currently stars as a series regular on the hit Fox series THE RESIDENT.
